First I worked on these storage baskets I bought for our changing table. They matched the room but were super plain. A trip to Hobby Lobby was all it took to go from this:
to this:
Don't they look so much better? They look like they belong with the set!
Next, I took on the day bed. I've had a really hard time finding pillows that I like for it. I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and make them myself. Again, Hobby Lobby came to my rescue! I found some fabric that matches our crib sheets perfectly. Here is the final product:
The good thing about these pillows is that I was able to sew a zipper on them so they are fully washable.
I had also been having trouble deciding on curtains. All the ones I looked at were either too busy, too plain or not the right color. This time, Target provided some inspiration. I bought two twin size sheets and trimmed them with the same ribbon that I used on the storage boxes. I was very pleased with the results.
Not to mention these took almost no time to do. I was able to make one of them in the amount of time it took Artie to go pick up a pizza!
